    September: A PhotoShow

    Summer dies
    reluctantly here,
    so close to the sailboats
    that cruise past Huntington light.

    The morning chill
    makes me put on my
    spiffy grey and blue jacket
and push my hands into the pockets.

    I don't feel old.
    I wear plastic shoes
    as part of the joke
of living in a place of summer fun

    which slowly saddens
    as the days shorten.
    Serious neighbors renovate
and life focuses on cleaning up.

Don, that was awesome! And I have to say that I saw a side to your images that I have not seen before. Many of these are unlike what you normally post here. You have quite an edge! Of course, now I'm feeling a bit of melancholy over fall. Sigh. Off to dig out Mr. Winston and listen to the music as September slips slowly away. Would love to see more of your work around that monolithic park or whatever it is.

Please, feel free to edit the images I submit for critique. I'm a visual kind of gal!
