    Senior portraits

A couple day ago, a mom request a Senior portraits for her son and her son want to shoot it with his truck. So I took them out to an empty parking lot, with no parking lot lights with ten second at f/8 using one alien bee 400 power setting on the middle. all comments are welcome. I'm still learning so give me your best advice..

    cheer,

    Re: Senior portraits

I think the lighting was insufficient.. he's too dark on the back side, and the truck's too dark, IMO. I know that there were no parking lot lights, but the bottom line is the bottom line - you can't see the truck and he's fading out. I think you'll have to shoot where there's more lighting.

If you have to shoot here btw I think it might work better taking the shot head on so that he's illuminated. The side view just creates too much of a dark area. Btw - I guess you used a tripod for a 10 sec exp, and I guess expecting him to stand still for 10 secs is unreasonable, but the truck looks soft too. Why, if you did use a tripod?

GB1 you are right about the dark area behind him. Its was the intention for this shots here with the two combine in to one. and the model did not stand still for 10second though, from the rear I zap my bee two time and the model one time and he is done, two zap on the grill and one on the hood. remember, the camera only capture where I zap my strobe at. and this is only the first time out for this kind of shoot, I'm sure next time around will take more precaution and thank you for all your comment.

Ah, you did the strobe zap thing. Makes sense. Kudos for your adaptability. I like the collage btw.

That collage is hot although I would like to see the closeup moved to the left a little bit.

That is a killer Senior Photo, I bet all the other kids are going to want one.
    No, I DON'T need that.
