I think if you could get the focal plane more parallel to your face it would come out sharper but still with the blurred edges.
Don - I keep coming back to this and I kind of like it. Sure, it isn't a shot most people would take, but it is entirely consistent with your own very distinctive style. One thing you do is take pictures the way YOU want to take them, regardless of the 'rules' - and full credit for that. You're a brave photographer.
I'll reiterate what Didache said, You're a brave photographer! Photography isn't just about sharp focus and level horizons. It's about revealing one's soul. Shooting with a cell phone is a lot like shooting with an old Kodak Brownie or a Diana camera. They all yield interesting images. Don, can you tell us more about what you did to this image?
