    Needs perhaps a bit more of you and a better background.

    If you're going to try this get the front not top of the face from the side angle. I.e. show your eyes and mouth and not the back of the head.

    It's definitely interesting. I keep coming back to it!

    I like the monocromatich wheat-y palette with the black band in your hair and the dark grid on the ceiling.

    Leaving the composition alone, my only problem is the ceiling. Sometimes I get those bands of color too..I see them on skies and sometimes dark drapes of fabric.

    No idea, why..something in my lens perhaps,, but what helps me to get rid of it is to add a bit of noise..enough to look a little like Tri-X film. I like grainy, and I would like your image grainy too, so you might want to give that a try.
