    I can tell your mind is always at work to have thought of this.
    Did you shoot in raw? If so, you could adjust the white balance but I think the yellow cast works for this. I think you could crop the plumbing on the bottom .

    no raw, took it with D300 in fine and except some straighten is pretty much out of the camera..

    I think Frog has the crop figured out. Get rid of the bottom.

    I like the idea, and I think you have a lot to the picture, but if you crop it slightly and put a dutch angle on it, it could be way more intriguing. Great idea though for a self portrait.
