    Seletive Pink

I always like to try to do selective colour. This was taken a few weeks ago and I have been playing around with it while sitting at home with a cold. I think it turned out pretty good and I like the way the pink really stands out against the darker background. Can't do much with the "busy" background as there were people everywhere when I took it, but I got the best angle I could with least amount of distractions.

The flower looks really good, and I'm a fan of selective color myself. What, or whoever that is behind the flower really distracts though. I'm sure there's a less then easy way to get rid of it in pp, but I wouldn't know beyond some tedious cloning.

I am sorry to say, but I dont think this flower shot sets itself apart from the huge bulk of flower shots out there. If you'd like to calm down the background, you could use the wand to select all but the flower and stem, then right click and 'layer via copy', then on that layer, use a gaussian blur filter (the px radius will depend on the size of the image, easy to eyeball). Then use a small eraser to clean up the edges. I think a slightly tighter crop could help here.

Nice DOF and good use of selective color.
Only problem I have are bars of brightness on the right.
The window dominates too much and the bar below the petals does the same thing.
    Look through a glass eye.
    Give it a few tries.
Nothing goes right in its time.

    Thanks

I am just not that good in PS to worry about it. One rainy day I may play around with it but, more than likely I won't. It fits my desktop just fine

    Re: Seletive Pink

I think the background is too balanced. Seems like a 50/50 of black and white. A tighter crop with and repositioning of the flower to have a more predominantly black or white background would make it pop a little more imo.
