    Selective Color... I like it

    Probably my first true effort at this, I like it. really wasn't anticipating the selective color when I shot it.

    Selective color can be effective sometimes.
    My problem with this one is that I don't really see anything in focus.

    The selective color works well here, but I think if you're going to keep such a narrow DoF you could improve the strength of the photo by going with a square crop. The mouse really does nothing to add to the photo, so it doesn't need to be there in my opinion. This might also work better with a small bump to the overall brightness so the surgeon general's warning "pops".

    I agree about the softness of this shot loses its potential effectiveness. Also the red being way off to the side doesn't help it. i like the concept though.

    thanks guys, this was actually taken because I really wanted to shoot, but it was like 4 degrees outside and snowing.

    I aprecciate the help though. Sadly, I tend to find myself always underexposing everything with wide open aperture. I think I might reshoot this completely, and see what else I can come up with.
