    Re: Seen better days

I like the simple subject and the isolation that the flash gives. I wish you had stopped down some more for a wider DOF.
Without the DOF I'd suggest cropping off the left to almost that white angular thing on the beach and off the bottom to just below the gray splotch on the door. This will move the feather away from the centerline of the shot and limit some uninteresting OOF areas.

    Re: Seen better days

The circle illumination of the subject is neat. I do like the subject feather, but wonder if it's too small in the frame to be dominant enough and act as the subject? Perhaps the light circle is too wide for it. I like the lit wave crest back there, but wish it was more prominent in the shot, and it's very close to the edge, almost squeezed out.

    Re: Seen better days

    Thank you both!
I see what you mean Chunk, a tighter crop would suit better, its funny you dont often see things until someone draws your attention. I think cropping the bottom off would help.
GB thats a good point about the bg, it seems unbalanced.

Thanks again I'll have a play and see what i can come up with

    Re: Seen better days

    That is a good idea.

I'm not so sure the image needs more DOF but I want to point the camera a little higher and to the left a tad. That moves the feather out of the dead center of the frame and brings the wave more into the shot.
    No, I DON'T need that.
