    Scared Swedish

This picture just made me giggle. The dirty snow, the painted wooden cat in Swedish colours. I just HAD to take the picture hoping to invoke laughter. Success?

why use F4 if you have 1.8, about the backrground I do not beleive you wanted it somewhat in focus, or did you?

this one I would crop it so the cat is on the lower rigth corner, I do not care to see the mountain of dirty snow

It will probably improve if used a lower point of view, and looking a little more to the left allowing to see the length of the side walk vanishing in the back

maybe there was a large trash can you did not want in the photo , I don't know

Well, just got the lens and am learning how to use it. This was picture number 4 with the lens so.....

And the object wasn't to be aesthetically pleasing, it was to be funny, hence the dirty snow and the funny wooden cat in the "scared" position covered in Swedish colours.

How can you tell I used F4? I don't even know what I used.

Nicci, sorry if I sounded harsh, it was not my intention :blush2:

Flickr separates the exif information from the photo, but snce you pasted the link to your photo I was able to see it. Look for a link on the right of the picture below
all the groups , and labels tags etc ., it will say taken with Nikon D90 and below is a small "More Properties" link

Here is some of the info:
    Camera: Nikon D90
    Exposure: 0.013 sec (1/80)
    Aperture: f/4.0
    Focal Length: 50 mm
    ISO Speed: 100
    Exposure Bias: 0 EV
    Flash: Auto, Did not fire

Here is the link in case you don't find it:
    More info

I'm guessing you used your camera in auto or Program mode? rather than aperture, shutter or manual which gives you more control on what the camera is doing

I usually have my camera in aperture mode, with a fixed ISO
if I want fast I'll use Shutter mode and auto ISO- I'm still rather unsuccessful in this mode
Manual mode used less frequently, great for macros

I'll set it to program mode if I let someone else use it

Nice shot. Outside of being funny, I have the words dichotomy and paradoxical running through my head. The bright colors of the Swedish cat versus the dirty snow. ( I think I see a band-aid) The cat's body language portrays that these conditions are scaring it. It also appears that there is a menu board in the background, but after walking by this scene my appetite would be gone!

aah it's okay. I was in a cranky mood. lol

I just saw that on flickr. I had it on auto. Seems to work that best for that lens right now, especially when I have my contacts in (things aren't so sharp when I don't wear my glasses).

I still haven't gotten around to reading the manual for the camera and won't until summer so until then it will be auto most of them time for me

    lol

The conditions were scary...scarily cold! It looked really sunny outside but it was freeeezing with dirty piles of snow everywhere. I still wonder which shop had this out. There was a pelican too but it was white and didn't contrast nicely.
