I have not attempted anything like this ...Its a really neat shot, very interesting...I wouldn't hang it in the dining room. Good job!
Please ask to edit photos and I'll do the same!
    Thx, Rod

    Talking Re: Sarah's eye

That made me jump off my seat! Incredibly captivating. This is a good starting point for a post-processed work, maybe false colour? Or having an image reflect off the eye... My only complaint is the ring flash that reflects and prevents us from seeing the eye naturally. You can try boosting external light (no flash though...) boosting the iso or using bounce lighting. Very good macro work though, the detail is incredible. If you must use flash you can try a trick I learned from a friend...use a polarizer and shot the flash at an angle (it must be at an angle for this to work). The dispersion light will enter the eye but you will only see an illuminated eye with no reflections. These are of course tedious techniques, for a quick macro shot this is pristine work, although like a previous poster mentioned, I don't think the wife will like it hanging in the house .

cool details, the reflections put it back a bit though. I agree with the trying to boost ambient, or bouncing off the ceiling, or something, to avoid the direct reflection in the eye.

    Re: Sarah's eye

Thanks a lot for the critiques, complements and tips..

I'm getting the newer macro flash set from Nikon, the R1 (2-SB-R200's)
Let see if Sarah's eye can be inprouved with that flash.. ;)

    Thanks again.
    cheers
