    San Gabriels- "Clouds eye view"

Hello all, I was looking to get some feedback on a photo I recently took. The shot is of the San Gabriel Mountain ranges, in California. I took this picture on a 14 mile hike up the mountains, around mid-day,(i believe). I Havent really decided on wether I like this one or not, but id like to hear anyways of improving it, or any of my shots in the future. In advance thank you for any comments/critiques

    Hi Hippo,

Welcome to the boards! I checked out your pictures, they are beautiful, with a nice attention to detail. The one you have directly referenced is quite lovely and I think your choice of black and white has done a great job of displaying the textures of the clouds rising up out of the mountains. Beautiful work. I look forward to seeing more from you, so please do talk to your ISP about that hot link thing or whatever the hang up is (not very savy in that dept. myself but I'm sure others here will have suggestions as to how to work within what you have). There are some here who prefer to just click and peek and are less interested in taking the extra step and viewing an external link.

    Welcome Hippo,
I like your point of view of the shot and the clouds make it very dramatic. The clouds at the rear, or the top are blown out, meaning they are suffering from overexposure with too much white area and no definition, but in this picture I think it canwork. It adds to the tension and strength of the image. Not bad at all, lok forward to seeing more of your work
