San Francisco Zoo - Gorilla

This is one of the most human-like gorillas I've ever seen. The expressions were just plain eerie and I felt almost invasive photographing him. I'm not sure what he was intrigued with, but out of the crowd of people there, he did turn towards my camera, a lot, and even moved location and position when I changed viewing platforms. Could have been coincidence, but a weird one at that!

More to come from this guy. It'll take me a while to get through all the pictures from that day.

Note: I was having a hard time deciding how to crop this image. The full frame is horizontal and has more background available to work with. I considered a vertical crop, but came back to this. Opinions on that subject especially would be great! Thanks.

DOF is spot on, and BG does not compete w/ primary subject.....in fact, I think it compliments the piece.....
