    San Francisco Peaks

I've posted several shots in Viewfinder from my trip to Arizona, but I thought I would post one here. Criticism can only make you better...right? This shot I got while going thru Flagstaff on the way to the Grand Canyon. No post shot editing, just a bit of cropping.

    Re: San Francisco Peaks

The whole thing looks a little grey/dark to me. I sure wish you had included just a little more foreground in front of the closest tree.

I'm thinking you have a real nice composition here with just not the best light for the subject. Shooting with a low sun behind you would really bring out the best of this scene.
    No, I DON'T need that.

I have to say on this monitor it looks just fine, exposure wise. But I have to agree with MB1 that it could of used a little more foreground or could of been a little wider.

Here is another version, as you can see I was trying to keep the house out of frame. This is the complete shot, no editing. Feel free to edit.

    Re: San Francisco Peaks

i think your crop brings in the trees effectively...you could add some foreground and take away some sky. Heres a quicky edit panorama.
Please ask to edit photos and I'll do the same!

    cruzthepug,

I definitely like the non cropped version better than the first crop you posted.

I like the crop that Rod did, although, would like him to post one with the house if possible.

I like the scene Steve but the uncropped version best. I agree this could benefit from a pano style crop with some of the fg and more of the sky. I would have liked to see some more space to the right of the big tree in the right side frame. Here is my version of the crop with some adjustment to the sky to darken it and pop out the mountains.

I really like the house included in the picture and agree with whoever suggested a bit more of a pano style by cutting down on the sky.

    Re: San Francisco Peaks

Thanks guys for all the replys. I do like it better with more foreground, but I'm still undecided about the house, I now kinda like it with it.

My personal opinion: I like jkriminger's crop, but i like the house in it. I feel like the house just adds so much more...
