    And a Runner on First...............

Our local softball game today....They won by a landslide...20 to nothing! Whoo Hoo!!

Anyway, I wish her legs weren't cut off but the shots were hard to get as they were taken behind a chainlink background. You can see a little shadowing from them in the picture and I was going to clone them out but I kind of like it........ So, what do you think?

LOL...I know how you feel. When a photo sits there with no comments...you start to wonder....."is it that bad?"

I'll put an honest comment here and you do me a favor and critique one of my ZERO comment photos...ok?

This would be nice in the RED Photo Project Gallery.

I haven't done sports but I'm looking forward to my first try.

Your photo needs to be more vibrant. I would expect it to stand out with such a strong red in the photo....or maybe it is my monitor.

I believe sports photos are usually action shots so at the moment the batter is waiting for a pitch and your first base isn't even trying to steal.

I then have a hard time with photos without eyes or a hint of face. Backs of heads need a strong supporting subject to make it work.

    This is just IMHO.

As Loupey always tells me, "keep shooting!"

One more thing....I guess your lens was totally open wide which may explain the vignette in the shot.

I like to know when my lens will start to vignette so I can aviod seeing it UNLESS you want it in the shot.

Forget this post....I reread your post and the vignette is due to what you said about the chain link fence....my bad.

yeah, and while you're at it, how about mine too

I'd think about cropping out the one-half of the scoreboard. Ideally you'd like to have a pretty uncluttered background, but understanding your situation with positioning, you can probably make this a better shot by a tighter crop. Also, I'd like this better if the bottom were cropped about mid-thigh. That said, you stated you rather like the vignetting, so you'll want to take my comment with a grain of salt. If it's good to you, the heck with what others say . Just my .02.
