    Rumors

How do you feel about the angle and crop? I shot this with Trix 400.

    Re: Rumors

I think I would do a slight rotation adjustment.

    Re: Rumors

I think this is a great shot, as is, I get the feeling that it could have been taken in the 50's, very nicely done.

    Re: Rumors

Interesting composition Greg, I like the tonal rage.
Regarding the angle is a little tilted, you can see it on the right side, comparing the distance from the window frame to the crop in the upper and lower margins.

Another thing that catches my eye is the wall lamp to the left of the sign, I would suggest to either enhance it or get rid of it. Its right in the point where you stare at it in other to try to distinguish it and thus takes the attention off the whole composition. My personal view....get rid of it, it will make the sign stand out more IMO.

    Re: Rumors

I usually like a tight feeling photo, but for some reason this one is uncomfortable for me. I don't know if it's angle, crop or what, but the architecture itself is strange as presented. It looks like they built on the sidewalk. I like the peek into the window, but the "exterior" doesn't make sense to me.

AE I see what you are talking about I hope I corrected for the lean. When I put a line on this one it is level all the way across.
BR the light was a concern. To keep it crop it or clone it. I will try a version without it.
Thanks Bill, Shebang. I was wanting a more straight on shot but the chair would have been split by the window frame. The chair wasn't centered enough to do that and get the subjects in the shot.

    Re: Rumors

I like the edit. Not sure what you should do with the light. I don't think its a big deal but the devils in the details.
    Love the tones.

    Re: Rumors

Great capture. I'd kill the light top left next to the "R", for me it doesn't add to the shot, but I guess it's there? Lovely B&W. One day I'll go into a barber shop and get some close-up's if they agree.
    Shootme...

    Re: Rumors

Thanks Frog, BR, Shootme. i will think on the light. I might clone it just to see. When I first took the shot I purposely included it. Great thing about PS I can have it both ways if I want.

    Re: Rumors

Hey Greg, I missed this one. Great work i think the light should be cloned out as it does not add, and cutting it out will clean it up some. It might help if you can define it some more by dodging but i think its too close to the edge for my comfort. Still, it is fine in the end if it stays. I like the comp and especially the cutting action inside

    Re: Rumors

Nice contrast, interesting composition. A little soft inside where the action is and where the eye is drawn to, unfortunately, but sometimes you have to get what you can given the situation (low light).

    Re: Rumors

Thanks Gary, Thanks GB. I will clone the light and see what I have. GB the inside is soft from the distortion and angle of the window. I was shooting at 1200iso and I think the shutter speed should have been enough to freeze the action. But I do see it....

    Re: Rumors

This is one of those shots that I immediately like as soon as I see it. I'm over critical and usually look at a shot and nit pick it, but not his one. Great job Greg.
