Ruby in B&W

Back down at Ruby Beach on 1-14-09. Finally saw sunshine. Processed this with B&W conversion. Not sure about contrast levels working with another CS3 plugin.

You've also got lighter haloes surrounding the rocks, so was it just a B&W conversion ?

Contrast is great. Lighter halos on rocks seem natural to me. Would have liked to see something in the foreground to give more depth. It may be my monitor, or the small file needed to post here, but whole thing looks a little soft.

Thanks for the comments unfortunately in a Beach field with huge driftwood logs there really was nothing in the foreground.
Here is the uncropped version. I think softness was from compression this seems to be a little sharper.

I like that better, because the rocks in the foreground give it some depth. Good shot.
It may be personal taste, but I think most scenic shots are improved by putting people in the foreground to add depth and relationship. A little boy candidly playing in the rock, throwing rocks, or a nude girl waking away. (Can we do that here?)

I like the uncropped version better, also.
If you can get rid of the halos it will be great!

I have to agree with Frog, as I to like the uncropped version as you can see the pebble beach giving a sense of position unlike the cropped version.
