    Osprey

I saw this guy in my neighborhood as I was driving home from work recently. This is the full frame (no cropping). He was really eyeing me up as I walked past underneath him.

Nice clean shot Greg. He seems pretty relaxed around people. I'm a little puzzled about the object hanging from his ample hardware. Looks a little like the cords the trained falcons carry. Raptor park perhaps??

That is actually excess phone/power line. The thing he is gripping is the clip that holds the wire in place. This is indeed a wild bird.

Nice framing in this picture, good color tones, but there is not feel to this picture, mabey if this was something else in there like a tree top or clouds or something, but it feels plain

    Greg,

This is an awesome photo! I think to truely appreciate this photo, one has to spend a little time trying to "fill the frame" as you did. This photo is probably enjoyed most by those with a passion for the subject. And if you have the interest, one of the drawbacks for full appreciation of wildlife close-ups is the 640 pixel limit. I have touched on this in a previous post.

One of my earliest posts on the gallery was a near "full frame" of a Cardinal. The background was admittedly boring. The detail was sufficient to make out small veins in the legs. I think there was very little interest. Guess ya gotta know your audience.

I like this one a lot.

(BTW, on my screen, one can easily see a twisted steel cable and not the cord of a trained bird)

Remarkable sharpnesss and clarity. Even shooting on digital with a 300mm and 1.4 TC, I haven't gotten an Osprey full frame -- they seem to take off if I get to within 100 ft or so, even if they are 100 ft up in a tree.
