    Rose (Practicing Using Manual)

I just got one of Bryan Petersons books over the weekend. I was trying out some things..

It was taken in Manual Mode.

    Re: Rose (Practicing Using Manual)

Nice and close. The rose is pretty sharp. I would have liked to see the rose more isolated, or without that little piece of something at 2 o'clock, the leave at 4 o'clock and the babies breath and leave on the left as they are all pretty clear in focus, are kind of "sticking out of it" and detract for me. Possibly less business in the background also.

Maybe a little more saturation on the rose?? By the way, I'm a newbie as well ( I assume you are by your noob head banging emoticon) and I must admit that I am cutting my teeth with this critique business, but I think it is really helping me to learn as well. So thanks for the photo!

As they say, keep shooting and have fun!

A little too green. Work on your color balance.

I think the background is to bright and distracting. It is always something to watch when shooting Macro. It is to easy to focus to much attention on the flower and forget totally about the BG. I do it all the time.
