    interesting shot, but too bad the lower right part is blown out/flash.
    Also, I like the snow falling, it really makes the shot, thought it would be even better with much more snow!

    I think the "techinique" worked better with the other shots.... where the background was black... a softer light would probably have been better...

    Like the composition though...and the mood you were going for!

    I think this is the best of all these root shots you have posted. I like being able to see some of the surroundings. The burnt out stump in the foreground I feel is a distraction though.

    i tried a few different exposures.. the background wasnt atractive.. the main problem i have with that one is the blow out at the root bottom..

    u need a subject more flat to the camera.. the light from the flash just varies too much if the subject has any depth to it.. the snow at the closest point just made it impossible.. its nearly there thow..

    i picked it to post because it went with what i though was a nice title.. "the Roots of Winter".. silly perhaps but true.. he he
