    Roots and Logs

Took this one today...I liked the shape and color of the logs a lot.

    Re: Roots and Logs

It looks cold! I have been looking at this and I am not quite sure overall. I really like the colour of the wet logs and the roots on the bank that curves nicely against the water. I wish there were more logs breaking up the open water towards the bottom right of the image and I am not sure if the wall in the background adds much to the overall image. Getting closer is one possibility but you would have lost the nice frosty river bank, I can see why you took it and I think that I would have been drawn in by this scene as well. Lots of nice elements to this image, just not sure how to make them really work together.

    Thanks

    Emily,

I personally would have cropped out the wooden fence and the green board while keeping as much of the path as possible. I think this looks much better.

Love the colours and I like how the angle takes you through the water to the corner but you also have the path branching off.

Yup, I see what you're both talking about. I'll do a little cropping and see what happens. Thanks for your feedback on this!

Yes a crop just beneath the wooden fence. However I would also crop from the bottom, just beneath that thingy with the chain resulting hopefully with more attention on those lovely wooden blocks curing away there in the water.
