    Rooftop Chillout

Does it work for anyone? Does the fact that the action seems to be happening behind him hurt this? Just throwing it out there. All feedback appreciated.

    Re: Rooftop Chillout

There is something that just doesn't sell this shot to me and I'm not sure what it is. The sky is nice, the brick way is nice, the building is a bit bland but there is some character. The wires I'm ify about, they seem to slice the photo in half.
Maybe its because I'm not seeing what the subject is looking at. Or maybe its because the brick way just sorta stops and I can't see anything recognizable beyond it.
Maybe this will help someone else discover what is missing, if the feel that way, that is.

I think the lines should be removed. They cut the image in half. I think it would be a winner then.

Thanks Arne, I'm in complete agreement with you. There's something about this photo that just doesn't work. I think it's all the things you noticed combined that does this.

Greg, Thank you. I was hesitant to remove those lines when I was prepping the file. but now i'm thinking i should. thanks for the suggestion.

I would not change anything on this picture.
This is simply the man relaxing in very ordinary but attractive surroundings. Like a cat, he has found his perfect, warm spot; away from everyone. The shoes on the ground add so much to this as does the chair arrangement.
The lines must stay; they are part of the domestic setup (washing lines,I am pretty sure) of the residents in the buildings behind him. They provide a little charm.
    Why not leave it real.

Wow, very interesting light effect. Is there some element of HDR here?

What is making it a bit awkward for me to look at is the strange leading lines and the vanishing point of the image. It just seems sort of bizarre and makes the image a little dizzying to look at.
