    Smile Roman Forum-Through Sunglasses

What do you do when you see a potentially great shot and low and behold you left your polarizer in the hotel? It turns out many of you wear one all the time, you just haven't realized it. Suddenly, as I was about to take this shot I realized I had my sunglasses on . This photo was taken by a D80 with a Nikon 17-35mm (the exif reads 8mm for some reason ) at f2.8 through a pair of polarized Oakley's (notice the little flare on the left due to the curvature of the sunglass lens). I cropped the image so only the part covered by the lens was visible. The coordinates are as follows 41.892215° N 12.48696° E.
Edit: The photo has been rebordered with a thinner border.

Great presence of mind to use the sunglasses:thumbsup:
This has a great 'golden hours' feel to it, and I think the angle is a great addition. That flare really enhances the shot, IMO. It's like a shaft of sunlight. Great job! I don't know, though, whether I like the thick border or not.

I changed the border, it was quite thick actually...

I really like that. I can't believe it came out so nice through the glasses.

The overall effect of this image is very nice. I like the reddish/orange hues and even the sky has a pleasing warm brown tone ( due to the shades)? Must have been cropped quite a bit unless you had some very large sunglasses.
I'm wondering if leaving the doorway visible between the columns would have worked better or not. Still, i think you have a very good result here.
    nice work

    nice work
Surprisingly not that much. My glasses are somewhat rectangular and they were oriented with the image so I wasn't forced to crop too much. Nonetheless you can see some quality loss here.
