On The Rocks!!

I was walking along the shores of Lake Superior and randomly pointed my camera towards the rocks and took this shot. As you probably could tell it was a bright day out, and the rocks were near the shore so they were wet. I don't know weather the yellowish colored rock is a dristraction or not. What do you think??

I like your eye, Shawn, very worthy subject.

I think the lighting works and the composition, but with a shot like this I really believe that everything, every rock has to be in focus. This would require f 16 or such. Just something to think bout for next time. The yellow one is different,.. I may have taken another after removing it and seeing which looked better.

I do really like this shot. Good thing I'm not there, my pockets would be full of some of the "choice" stones.

My Sony DSC h50 only stops to f8. Is there anything else that I could do in a similar situation?

GB1 nailed what I saw.

The only other nit is that the contrasting rock could have been less centered.

Might try a lower perspective with something like this next time.

Gotrocks, F8 isn't a bad thing, in fact I probably should have had it set higher than F4. The key with a camera/lens that will only stop down to F8 would be a tripod. A good tripod will make a world of difference. As I may or may not have stated, I didn't even really try to compose this shot. I just pointed the camera at the rocks and clicked the shutter button. I may not have even looked through the viewfinder. The close to centerness of the contrasting rock is what bothers me. But hadn't thought about having it in a different place.
