Well the time finally arrived. My best friend got married. I was the lucky one that was responsible for the photos. Here is the kicker. His Wife's Dad is Tommy Castro. A pretty well known Blues Musician. The groom also plays in a band. During the reception he played with Tommy on stage in front of 200 people. He was more worried about me getting pictures with him and Tommy in rehearsals and on stage than anything else in the wedding. These were taken right before he jumped into his tuks and sealed the deal. So I want to get these right. He wants them "rough" so he says. So here is what I have come up with so far. I dig them. very cool set. I feel like the last picture in your first post looks a bit over saturated. Their arms look a bit orange to me but still a good picture.

It is real hard to choose between color and black and white. both look great.

Hi Canyon Hiker.

Usually when I do band gigs I shoot down and low.

I would go B/W to create that 70s/60s/ Rock n Roll shots like what you see with the Beatles , Rolling stones, and Led Zeppelin's early year shots.

Some of the shots are just too dark though..details are lost... but if you are going for that look then that's cool. I just prefer detail but still retaining that artsy feel in pictures.

Great series, the lighting is very good on the on stage shots, often difficult to capture. Nice processing on the bottom set, really like #1 & 3 in this set. B&W's work well too.

I think the first set were a bit dark, and their caps cover their faces a bit much. If you could bring up the exposure a tad... The performance shots look good. I'm wishing that the shot of the guy tuning would have had him actually playing though as that's a good angle and good lighting.

I like how dark the first couple are. I feel like there are a lot of band pictures that are shot that dark. It gives it that 'not about the envoirment but about the musician' feel.

I am with 'Shootme' the lighting on the stage pictures is captured very well.

I really like the first one in color.
