    Rock Climbing

Does the sky look too off? I tried to edit these a bit because I was not happy with the white balance I did in camera.

very tough subject to photograph. the first one shows the great scale of the shot but the people get really tiny. the 2nd one the people are more prominent but you lose sense of the scale.

i think i prefer the first one. i'd rather have tiny people and show the great scale of this. nice one.

Definitely something weird with the sky on the first one, at least on my monitor. But either way, I like the second image best. You do lose a little scale of the rock, but the people are still small, so I think it's preserved there. It has less of a "looking up" snapshot feel to it, in my opinion.

Good to see some climbing pics! I really need to take my camera out to the crag one day...

Sorry but all I can see is Jabba The Hut. lol Is the subject the same as your title? The rock climbers are tiny compared to the rock. If you're trying to show off their skill or technique, get closer.

Yes, the color is a little off in the sky. You should be able to fix that by adjusting the white balance on the computer.

    Re: Rock Climbing

@leeIs & @pose- Thanks. I liked the first one because it looks like a face but I agree that the Second one has a bit more depth

@nkp68- Jabba the hut! lol Yeah, while I was at the bottom looking up that is what I saw. It looked like a Monster with the people as the eyes.

@danbaileyphoto- Thanks. After I looked at it on a different monitor I got very self conscious about the color. Looks like my adjusting created a weird grain. I am going to recover the color and see if I can get a more natural look.

    Thanks everyone.

The best way i have found to get good rock climbing pictures, which ironically is the most difficult is being on the rock next to the route getting the person and looking down to the ground. That way you get the size of the person and the scale of what they are accomplishing.

Thanks, I will think of that next time I go out there.
