I like the clouds and the mountains in the background. I have never been to SF, but just looking at the picture I know what it is. I also like the way the city has more color than the prison, just as it should be. Will they let you visit the prison? I would love to see some pictures of it.

My first thought was that it was a big frigate in the bay then saw it was Alcatraz.
I have a couple of problems with the photo, I like the colour in the buildings in the foreground but they seem to be over powering the background and causing an imbalance for me. The hazy ness in the distance is not helping the photo at all other than it gives it depth. I think I would like the hills to be a tad clearer.

The shot was taken from the 22nd floor of an office building in the financial district. The view is over Chinatown to the end of the marina/warehouse district. The Golden Gate Bridge is just out of this shot but at the extreme left edge middle beyond Angel Island.
Great colors in the city and the haze over the bay is just how I picture SF. Nice job.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Hey, my birthplace!! (Not Alcatraz:hand:...but San Francisco).
I like the shot. Wish you could get higher as that would give a bit more dramatic feel to the photo, but I like it as it is too. Good work.
Last time I was there in "Frisco" was about five years ago when I had preached my grandmother's funeral. Never knew the lady since I grew up in a foster home, but the family wanted to see me since they hadn't any contact with me for around 30 years or so. While there I also got to check out the old "flat" where I used to live as a kid in the Mission District. Either the street we lived on shrunk tremendously over the years or things just appear amazingly huge when you're a little kid!

Great shot overall, very good exp of the city area. The only pick I have here is that due to the arrangement of the buildings in sort of a "reverse L" (for lack of a better desc), there then seems to be a gap in the upper left part of the shot. There should be something there... Too bad there wasn't a cruiseship steaming by.

Thanks to all for your positive comments. I appreciate it very much. It was a beautiful day in the city, I was there on business and thought the view from this vantage point made for a nice shot. I have it as the wall paper on my computer. Thanks again.
