    The Road Ahead

Would you crop out the top of the wall, the roof on the left, and the sky, to leave a square (or nearly so) image?
Would you crop out the car and windscreen wiper?

For me, I wouldn't crop the car, it's part of why the photo was taken.
Yes, my car did fit through the arch, just.

I like your composition except for the blown out sky. What city are you in?

Yes by all means crop out the car. Then it could be in the middle ages. But for the roofing.

But this was taken one weekend along the Mosel valley while I was working in Germany.

    Re: The Road Ahead

I would crop out just below the upper window..leaving a bit of sky..and also crop out the car..then play with the right side crop to get your proportions how you like them.
Please ask to edit photos and I'll do the same!

    Re: The Road Ahead

I would crop out the top for sure, but if you want to leave the cars wiper it could stay. It sort of gives us the story of driving through the street.

    Re: The Road Ahead

Good shot, blown out sky is all that bothers me, I'd crop out the sky. The inclusion of the wiper is great, as is the location.Good sense of depth.

    Re: The Road Ahead

Keep the wipers and crop from the top or paste in a decent sky from another photo.

Agree with Roger. A new sky makes this a real winner.

    Re: The Road Ahead

I think the sky is lovely, but perhaps I would be happier with a flat sky in just a several shades deeper blue. Just enough to not notice that it has an absence of color.

    Re: The Road Ahead

It looks good, Paul. i agree with lamorena though in that a flatter sky with just some color would suffice. This looks like a "whole lotta sky" packed into a litte package.
Somehow though, i think if you converted this image to b&w your "whole lotta sky" would work very well.

    Paul,

This is a tad over done but a nice piece of editing - I think just a blue sky would be enough for this picture.

I always think that this sort of sky is better in B&W and not colour - just read Gary's comments and I have to agree with him.

On your edit, lighten up the sky or darken the picture to match the lighting. I assume you masked it out and inserted a new sky .
