    Road Scraper

I am not sure but I think I caught a shooting star if you look hard enough. What do you think?

    Perfect tones.
I see the star but could it be a moth in the light?

    Re: Road Scraper

Thanks Frog, Tyson the trick is to find a subject with just the right amount of light shining on it. Here the scraper is lit by parking lot lights just behind me. I tweak the WB, fill light, clarity, ect in Lightroom to make the stars show up more. The EXIF is 200iso, 14mm, f/4.0 at 13sec.
That must but a shooting star it is in just this one exposure.

It looks like the scraper is lit by sunlight against the night sky! Cool shot.

    Re: Road Scraper

That's an excellent shot, Greg; by far the best dozer shot I've seen.
Looks to me like you did more in Lightroom than you're telling, judging by the noise in the sky, the dark blue color and how visible the stars are against that dark blue. You even have a star shining in one of the trees. Doesn't matter. It works.
If your shutter speed was 1/3rd of a second, that may be a shooting star, but if it was "13sec" a shooting star would have streaked all across the sky. I even doubt a shooting star would have made such a short trail at 1/3 sec. and believe it is probably something else, maybe a jet trail. If, however, a shooting star just entered the atmosphere in the midst or during the end of your exposure, it would have left a short trail.
I would take the star out of the tree and send this pix to Caterpillar's PR department. You never know.

    Re: Road Scraper

bindows, draymorton thanks. Ron thanks for pointing the star in the tree out. I agree it needs to go. But yes this was almost all Lightroom adjustments. I did clone a couple of distractions in PS and sharpen it. Yes it was also a 13sec exposure at F/4. if I remember all that I done in LR. Tweak the WB, Recovery, Clarity, and a touch of fill light. The fill light adds noise so I have to be careful how hard I push it. Out of three exposures almost back to back this is the only one with the shooting star in it.
