Wow, awesome shot. It's got great depth and contrast to it and I'm loving the black and white. What lens did you use? Did you try any shots even closer? Might be cool with a 50mm macro lens, just to get one leaf.

    Hi Tuna,
I like the compostion a lot. The leaves look like organs to me; I dont know why. Also, the pic has a very 3-D feeling. Nice shot!

You've done it again Tuna, amazing detail, great tones, and perfect composition. I do have a question about all of your plant photographs, are you using a tripod? Are they taken outside or inside, what kind of lighting? And are they set up, or do you take them as they are?

    Nice shot.

Love the tones in this, so much depth. I've been trying the odd b&w plant shot recently, but I've got a lot to learn:

    Keep up the good work!

F-15, I'm sorry for the late reply to your questions. No tripod, all handheld. All in existing and mostly diffused or subdued light, inside and outside - with no set up, taken as I find them.

Tuna, Excellent once again. I really feel your b&w foliage shots are making a very strong series.

I really like it. Great job Tuna. Love the layers, lighting and everything about this shot. The leafs look almost maticulously placed in the perfect spots at the perfect sizes, etc.

Not sure how I missed this one in the past week. Now I've found it! This is a really dark photo, and evil plant one might think, if it could, you might say this plant is brooding.

    Well done!

Wonderful shot, tuna, as always. You are one of the main people who I shall use as my standard for my b&w photography. So far everything I have seen of yours is just right on with composition, tonalities, light and shade areas. Do you shoot film and if so, what do you use?

It's as if it is there in front of me waiting to be touched and smelled. It's real; better than a photograph should be.
