Cute but I'd try something with the skin tones.

The skin color looks too weird? Should I just leave off the whole vintage look and go for something more natural then? I thought it worked nicely with this photo...anybody else have any opinions?

Hello and welcome to the board!

I guess it's a matter of personal tastes but I would keep going into this direction. The skin tones aren't neutral/natural but I don't see why they would need to be. Clearly, you are experimenting and you weren't going for a "documentary like" reprensentation of reality.

I like the unusual color rendition and the overall look who are going for.

This is a nice portrait. It does have those retro-film colors. It reminds of magazine ads from the 80's. I agree with Seb, this kind of effect is best adjusted to personal preference. My preference says the cheeks and the scarf are losing some detail and may come across as too washed out, but that's just me and my monitor.

I also feel that the skin tones seem off somehow. It was the first thing that I noticed when I looked, as if it somewhat washed out with a fill flash or related. Of course, skin tones do tend to be whiter and redder in cold weather..

Welcome. Looks like a good portrait and the color shift isn’t a bother. I like the composition and how the hat, scarf and jacket offset the face. Good image.

Welcome to the cauldron...Nice first post..The skin tones don't bother me too much,,they can be easily changed with PS..I like the tight compositition and this image is as sharp as..Only one minor negative,,I would have liked to see you shoot this child at her eye level..It appears you are towering over her..

    Re: Retro Portait

A little too much contrast resulting in lost detail in the scarf and clothing, as well as too tight a crop.
