    Reston Pet Fiesta 3

Is there too much motion in these? A big part of me says yes, but then motion is also a big part of the images, so I'm on the fence about these. I know the background is already too busy too. Next year I'm lobbying the organizers to put out for the backdrop curtain to go with the stage. Blast away!

The other way to try it would be pan with the dog and blur the owner.
Who's the subject here, the blurred one or the sharp one?

Wow - how did he do that?

I love the bottom one - except for your own critique which is the busy background. I think it would have been ok if all the people had been watching.

Paul has a good point which is the one you want the focus on. Tried to visualise if there would be enough information to make out the arms if the dog was in focus, you may have to speed up the shutter a bit to make it so that the person isn't quite so blurred so that you can see the blurred arms forming the circle.

I love the motion of the dog, but don't like how she's not in perfect focus/sharpness. Hard to tell but the focus might have been at a pt behind her and the DOF was too shallow to compensate. But the idea, and capture, is excellant.

Yep I am DEFINITELY lobbying for a rear curtain next year! Nasty lighting conditions, with the sun right up my snoot most of the day. I REALLY wanted this one to work ~ but it is what it is...sketchy. I did want to show the dog in motion and the woman as the hoop but the women isn't perfectly still (probably because she has 30 pounds of fur floating through her arms). You win some, you lose some eh? A faster shutter speed would have solved it all. Arrgh! :mad2: :cryin:

I showed it to a few friends here at the office... They were amazed how well it turned out. One guy thought that she caught the dog !!! Definitely a memory making shot.
