    Residents departed

Saw this building in a tiny town called Liberty in Wa when going with my son and his buddy on their hunting trip and made them stop so I could grab a few shots. Probably could have stayed all day if it was just me.
I'm still going through them but liked this one pretty much. Would like to have got a bit more definition on the building but am pleased the leaves aren't as washed out as I was afraid they'd be.

You have something good here to work with.

Notice how you have about an even amount of foreground below the building and trees above? Reducing either will pop the building and get it out of the center of the image (I would crop the foreground but either would work).

    Good catch.
    No, I DON'T need that.

Frog - though it is nice, I would crop the foreground. If you take a look you will see that it steals a bit of the attention from the house (which may not be a bad thing ). Too bad there's not a deer in the scene.......

I see it is centered too much and will try a foreground crop. I do have some other shots of the building. I would have spent hours at this one place but felt like I was holding the hunters up while they waited for me. I doubt I'll get back there this year but gives me something to put to plan next year.

Beautiful colors Frog and a great old building. I think you're cropped in a little too tight on the building though. Do you have any shots maybe pulled back some more to get more of the landscape in the scene?

    Re: Residents departed

Here's a wider view. I have about 15 some of the inside. Angles from the front and all the leaves are blown out, unfortunatly. Funny thing, I was exploring a PacificNorthWest photo forum and found an almost identical shot of the same building. Might have been shot on the same day even. I guess I like this one more than I thought.
