    Refugee Camp

Took this photo at Philmont Scout Camp. The foreign flag (in this case Tibetan) and storm clouds lend the sense of being at a refugee camp.

I like both. The shot of the flower is good however the other flowers in the background distract. This would be better if either the background were blurred even more so, or, you shot from a lower angle having the sky as the background. But still nice. The shot of the Scout camp I like best. I love that dark sky behind the highlighted tents. Not sure what it is exactly but it keeps me looking and interested. Good stuff

I guess the inclusion of the mountain in the background takes on special significance for people who've been to Philmont. It's the Tooth of Time, and is probably the most memorable feature of the camp, which is itself a very emotional and memorable experience. I confess I tear up at the thought of never making it out there... but that's another story.

They're both good shots. Well-composed, nice and saturated and sharp where they need to be. As far as "looking like a refugee camp", I'm suspecting you haven't visited one recently, as the area in front of your tents are lacking dirty water holes, human refuse and wild dogs.

    ;)

Just givin' ya hard time; nothing personal...
