I took this and it still takes my brain a moment to figure out what I am looking at. Maybe it's just me.... Your comments are welcomed.

It is either a double exposure or blending of two shots of buildings in two layers of Photoshop. Positioning and the visual effect create impact.

Hey CF, neat shot! Love the illusion created by the reflections of the grid in the buildings. Good thing you were looking up. This would be even better with someone in the foreground somehow. At least you know where it is and can always come back to it.

Thanks very much for the comments, I appreciate it very much. This was taken from the same location as the shots I posted in My Weekend In Burbank, same building. No PS add-on's just a small boost of contrast as this was very early in the morning and the fog was just burning off. So, the light/sky was very harsh; it helped bring out the sky. I think the fact this is a "natural" shot is what makes it interesting.

I struggle terribly with PS, and don't know how to add layers or add curves or any of the other tips discussed in our photos. Other than a bit of contrast or a bit of color, I do not change the images posted on this web site.

I forgot to mention, this is looking up the side of a 22 story building so having someone in the foreground would have been a little tough. I think I understand the point of your comment though.

Yeah you'd have to have a pretty fast shutter speed by the time the subject is in the foreground. :devil:


Very cool shot, I'd like to see it in different weather situations and maybe at night...maybe a good series.

Thanks for the comments. Unfortunately, I live in San Diego and this building is in Burbank, about 130 miles to the north. So, I won't be able to get shots the series you suggested. Although, that does sound like a good idea.

This is one of those images when it's fun to let your eyes relax and just take it in (like those 3-d computer generated images of years past).

I rotated my laptop 90-degrees and I like it better in portrait mode.

Oh, man. You made me laugh. I did a similar thing when I was down loading the image and looking at it the first time- I rotated it via software, I couldn't remember what was up and what was down or sideways. It still takes me a second or two to focus on what is building and what is reflection.

Perhaps if you had someone jump off the roof and you timed the photo correctly.

On second thought, maybe not. Might damage your camera if they didn't fall just right. :idea:

BTW I think this is a really neat image with or without someone in the foreground.
