    Reflections

From the C&O Canel near Great Falls, VA. Shot in late October, it was a bit early for the changing leaves. The yellows are pretty stronog though.

Beautiful image GB, and a bit wetter than you're usual desert scenes. Is this on the Maryland side of the river or VA?

Great shot, love that the reflection is almost as sharp as the real thing. Also like hw the comp seems to flow L to R, alway seems to work best. Good colors.

I'm such a knucklehead...I didn't read your description at first, and I'm sitting here thinking...wow, that could be Northern VA...lol...

I really like this also...and agree that it's awesome that the reflection is so clear. I love when that happens, especially with tree shots. The colors are really nice also...even if it is only the beginning of the season...to me it's still very vivid, and the yellow contrasts beautifully with the darker trunks of the trees.

    Re: Reflections

The sharp reflection gives the shot a real feeling of peace and quiet.
    Nice shot.

    Re: Reflections

Thanks everyone. This was the only shot from the batch that I really liked.

CL - It's from the Va side. I parked at Carter Rock and cut through the woods. I try to get out there whenever I get back to DC (parents still live in PG county). I usually spend a full day or two just staring at the trees... it's so sparse out west in that regards, though as you said, I do enjoy taking pix out in the desert.

Mark - Thanks. I just learned something here: L to R might work better than the reverse. Maybe it's got something to do with how we read L to R?

Emily - That's funny... like 'hmmm, that place looks familiar.' I tried to time my visit to get the trees, but it's always plus or minus 3 weeks. At least the yellow were there. Note that I THINK I shot this on my Mamaya 645 MF camera... I believe that's why it's so sharp. The sun was at a good angle too.

Chunk - Thanks too. The C&O canel water flows so slowly... it's almost like a pond. Can get some nice reflections most of the time.

    Re: Reflections

Very nice GB. Unfortunately, I'm on a laptop and cannot fully appreciate the color. They look great here.

One thing I'm curious about is what it looked like shot a little wider.

    Cheers,
    Tim
