    Reflected Upon Itself

I took some shots today of the building where my doctor's office is located. The building is designed in such a way, that in some places it is reflected upon it self at certain angles. This creates some unusual geometric shapes.

    John,

This is a good start. I think as it stands I would go with a square crop to try and reduce the parallax distortion. I'd crop out the concrete on the left and the odd angle off the right. You're right though, it is a cool reflection!

I agree with Cindy about the brick column. I would crop it out. Other than that I like it. All of the angles work well here.

Ah, I like that very much now. I think the lighter colored triangles at the corners work better than those slippery verticals.

    John,

I like the latest version, much more. However there is a vertical line in the top pale blue that would be better cloned out to really make it better.

    Well spotted.

Thanks for pointing that out, Roger. I forgot to do that in the last edit.

    Re: Reflected Upon Itself

I like the potential in both of these. They seem to cry for a slightly different angle or perspective to get the reflection to 'fold' into itself more completely.

Not knowing where vantage is available, the general suggestion I'd offer is to get higher (steps, another building, etc.) to get the window frames to fit differently with the relfection that they 'frame'.

Lots of good internal framing and geometric concepts could be explored. Though they second works better, the upper right hand corner is a throw away as it doesn't fit geometrically or color or otherwise with the rest of the photo.

If the upper right and lower left were more even in size and contributed a similar area to the photo it might be stronger.

You've got a potentially strong image in the works.

    Re: Reflected Upon Itself

drg......unless I were a tree climber, getting to another level is pretty much eliminated. This is on the top floor of the building, and unfortunately there's no other vantage point. I see your point about the upper right/lower left corners, and will work on it some more. Thanks for the input.
