I kept looking for the doll and couldn't see the Barbie association until I realized you're in Ireland and the light went on. Doh!!

She is beautiful!!! The smile would melt any heart. The only thing I could wish for was a bounce of light into those lovely little eyes! Even the background wants to mimic her lovely hair.

Totally agree with dbutler. She's like a little angel. With the look to get whatever she wants. She'll break a few hearts in a few years.

She certainly is charming! I also agree with a D that a smidgen of fill flash would have given you a terrific catch light that would have made her eyes really sparkle! But I hate flashing kids full on in the face if I don't have to so I can see it both ways. Nice catch Bobby!

    Re: Red Head

Ah, looks like she's going to grow up beautiful too. I have a weakness for redheads

I agree on D's comment, just a little catchlight in her eyes would make a difference.
My Canon 580EX flash has a little catchlight panel that slides out, so I can point the flash straight UP and not into the subject's face, yet still get a catchlight from the flash reflected off the white panel.
You can do the same with any adjustable head flash pointed straight up, an elastic band, and a piece of white card - no need to buy an expensive flash with it all built in !

I wasn't sure about the division of the background, green and orange.
Or about the closeness in shade of the orange background to the red of her hair.

But the more I look at it the more I like it.
I think it's because the dividing lines in the background are at or about the 1/3rds of the image.
And as D pointed out, the colour in the background is an echo of her hair, not competing with it.
Even the green is muted enough for this to work.

    Heres another red head.
My daughter when she use to dress up and stick on the old lipstick and pose.
She's 18 now and still sticking on the old lipstick and dressing up.Very old picture taken with an old polish tin i think.

I have a total lack of respect for anything connected with society, except that which makes the roads safer, the beer stronger, the food cheaper, and the old men and old women warmer in the winter and happier in the summer. Brendan Behan

I LOVE red hair... especially on kids.
    I have a few....

She's cute... I might try and soften your catch lights, don't wanna make them look fake. But, the catch lights, all in all, are a good addition.
