    It is difficult to critique wild life shots as you have to get what you can get.
    My only problem is the missing toes.

    Get down lower to shoot, if possible.
    Check your background.
    Keep shooting frame after frame.
    Be patient. You can't control the subject matter, usually, and so you have to wait for the shot.
