The Red Boot and the Branding Iron

Something of a grab shot of opportunity. Two versions of the same subject. Which one works the best or does either make the grade. Very interested in what you guys think.

I like the second shot of the branding iron in focus and the rest of the scene out of focus. It is a more dramatic composition and conveys a feeling stronger than the other. In both though, I wish it were not cropped so tightly especially at the bottom.

Thanks you Gary for your observations. I tend to agree with your selection of images. As to the crop this scene was on a shelf that was above eye level. I held the camera above my head to get the images. If not cropped closely at the bottom I have a very unsightly press board shelf with metal brackets that detracts for the image.

definately number2..maybe allowing the 3/4 inch of shelf facial would have given you some border and some space for the iron? I see you brought a prop fly
Please ask to edit photos and I'll do the same!
    Thx, Rod
