    Re: Recording the creation....

yeah my cousin ( the one in the picture, and his gf) live in hawaii in KONA so i went to visit. they work for hawaii forest and trail tour company so they knew everywhere to take me. it was awesome.

any commnets on the photo, i'm thinking maybe cloning the top rope out, but i think the lower one actually adds to the scene.

    Re: Recording the creation....

Hey there, That's a nice shot!

Something didn't feel right in the colors, so i tried 2 things, not much of an expert in color (me) but it just felt better for me!

In Photoshop, color balance, gave it -10 (towards Cyan) and +5 (towards green)
other option was inverting the + and - so +10 (to red) and -5 (to magenta)

As for the top rope, i had mixed feelings about it! but i guess you're right to wanna clone it out!

    Hope this helps,

    Marc

yeah i think the color being weird is from the scan. and since i only play aroudn with color tone graph, and this is a scan it doesn't have one.

    thx for the feedback

    Re: Recording the creation....

Yep...this is a cool shot, and the title fits well. I'm not sure about cloning either rope out, actually. If you cloned out the bottom one, your cousin might look like you sort of pasted him into the photo...and the top rope balances out the bottom one for me...personally, I'd leave them alone.
The best part of this is the steam cloud being echoed by the clouds in the sky.
