Great title, but unfortunately no visual impact.

    suggestions?

I took the picture because I saw a sliver of humor in the scene.

Maybe getting a little closer would have helped. I do like it and see the humor in it as well. As with you when I saw Tuna's ... I laughed until tears was rolling down my cheeks and my sides hurt. I think we have the same since of humor. A dead shopper at the foot of the hill whould have helped too..

    Brilliant!

    Volunteers?

I'll have to get closer sometime, there were too many people driving by behind me for me to get closer. There were certain other elements that I had to consider. (Big red and white signs anybody?)

BTW thanks for reminding me about tuna's grass clump. I still laugh at that one, I doubt I'll ever be able to match that one.

Where is your daring, Mr. Yuck? On one of my assignments I had to climb over a barb wire fence into a car wrecking yard guarded by loose dogs in order to take photos of the area. I was wearing a sports jacket, shirt, and tie etc.

Getting much closer and using a wide angle lens with parking lot in the background and in focus would be helpful and then work on the colours and lighting. More visual impact is needed.

    Re: Reckless Abandonment

avoid the 5'10" syndrome. This is a good concept, but shooting from eye's height does nothing for the composition because everyone's used to seeing the world from that angle. Get low on the angle, get closer with a WA to make the cart seem huge, do something to make it more challenging for the viewers eyes to immediately leave the scene. At this point, because of the open scene and deep DOF, there is really nothing to attract the eye.

    Re: Reckless Abandonment

Right on. You're all bad influences. I have no WA lens for my digital and film processing is to expensive for me to shoot a roll on a shopping cart but I'll do my best. (I'll bump this thread when the time comes.

One more thing, how's the shopping cat placement look and should I try some zoom to bring the old buildings in the bg closer or just use the parking lot?
