    The Rear Window

Looking into a family crypt from the back, the sunset lights the stained glass family crest.

Comments and critiques welcomed. Suggestions cheerfully explored.

    Re: The Rear Window

You know i luvs me some night window shots like this. . .
This is really good, I think. I was not sure about the large out of focus bars right in front, but they never really bothered me from the initial view and even now, and although i'm not sure if they are going to receieve a mixed response from others, they are not hurting the shot. Somehow, they seem to add to the voyeuristic nature of peering in where one should be kept out.
    Nice one here.

The bars don't bother me either, the fine design in the glass panels contrasts nicely with the rough frame structure

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

I have mixed feelings about the bars. They are in general too intrusive, but it is a close call.

    Re: The Rear Window

Thanks for the comments everyone! It's called 'Peeking'. I feel the bars lend themselves to that feeling. I had meant to get a zoom lens on but the sun was moving quickly and the bag was too far to run back and change out the lens. In the end I really like the impression of texture the bars lend to this shot. They don't have to be sharp because they're a peripheral frame.

    Re: The Rear Window

Been back to look at this one several times and reach the same conclusion every time.
As usual your light and exposure are always spot on. The bars don't bother me as I realized from the title that it was a rear window and the bars give that feeling.
What I think is that the composition isn't wide enough. Without the title, I would not know what to make of it and I think it needs more environmental clues.
    Keep Shooting!

    Re: The Rear Window

Love the light, and I think the voyeuristic feel the bars lend works really well. It gives the impression of a *stolen* shot, from someone who wasn't supposed to be there - cool stuff
