    Rasta Rainbow

Well sort of. . . . An experiment if you will. I'll wait for feedback before I say anything else.

Smoke and a gradient? I think it's very cool though I thought the titles was "pasta rainbow" and was confused as to where the pasta was

I think the dark spot on the lower left might be a little too heavy for the ethereal feel of the rest. Maybe cropping it in a little balances out the shadowy fingers on the left, with the longer shadows along the right.

It looks like there's a face on the right with a long mane of hair.

C.L., you've got a very interesting piece here. I see the face of a rodent in the bottom center. The dark area to the left appears to me as though it's some kind of shadow from something. Almost an abstraction---"in the eye of the viewer". I think I'll study this one some more. Very thought provoking. I can't wait to find out what this is.

CL . Interesting play on light and color. It's different, though I wish it had more contrast and maybe more color variation from top to bottom.

I did a quick crop and bumped up the contrast a bit... not sure that I made it better than the original, but it does have a slighly different feel (I think..)

Very interesting, CL. I really love the ethrealness of the image. I have not decided on whether I like it cropped, or not. The dark area to the left actually adds to the feeling of it for me. I would bump the contrast up for the colors, though. Will be very interested to learn what this is and how you did it.

    CL,

    Very spiritual,

It looks as if the ghouls are reaching out for the spirit of a recently departed, so I guess I see the face/hands/arms... but I am sad :-)

I like it as is not cropping please.

    Re: Rasta Rainbow

I have a rastafari friend I hang out with who loves to burn frankincense. She had just put some on a charcoal burner when this shaft of sunlight burst through her basement window. The colored beams are from the sun filtering through a jar I had painted for her in rasta colors that she was keeping in the window. When I saw the effect I thought Hmmm....I've caught similar effects at concerts from lasers and fog I wonder if I can capture that here. I think I have. I had to boost the saturation and contrast significantly already and am afraid that anymore will create blown out spots. Thanks for the comments folks, I always appreciate the feedback.

I was holding back on commenting until you explained the technique, very, very creative experimenting, I really like the result and the thought process behind it, well done!!

Good capture, I find myself looking at it a long time just to see what I can see.
