For me it looks much sharper with richer color.

    Hmm.

I didn't see the original. This one is OK - nice geometrics, sharpness, and an interesting cool blue cast. Where I think it needs to be better is in the surroundings, as there may be something missing - a person waiting on the train, something in the sky (your text adds to it here), .. maybe a moon. Perhaps something very odd like a person lying on the tracks where that wood area is, across, waiting on ___ (see my avatar).

I miss the original where you were in the center tracks, with tracks on either side. Plus in this one you're higher up, where the original you were closer to the ground. The tracks came in right at the bottom corners of the frame, which was cool. This one, the tracks on the right seem to pull that side of the picture up making the left side seem to drop, which bothers me.

I agree with Frog. It looks sharper and has a richer color from what I can remember. One small thing is I wish the RR crossing arm was completly in the shot. Maybe even a lower angle shooting up. It would also put the horizon more in the lower third. The reflections in the rails are nice. You can tell the rails get a lot of traffic. Nice job.

Railroad shots always bother me, as I've had two friends killed by them (one was a photographer on the tracks trying to get a pic), and last year I was on a train that hit someone.

{{{shudder}}} when I see shots like this, I can almost hear the train coming ....

Ok, weather and my hip permitting I will try once again to reshoot it this weekend.
So far here is a list on what need or would like me to try:

Lower to ground and more of an upward angle. Check
Back to the center track, Check
    Smaller watermark, Check

    Any thing else?

    Thanks all.
