I like your composition, use of light, and the shapes/angles you have presented here, as well as the tones. However, I am not sure it stands alone, I feel something is missing. Perhaps in a series, it would be stronger. Don't get me wrong, I like your technical presentation.

Lew, I too like the shapes and lines in this one. However, I find the dark corner in the upper left to be out of character with the rest of the image. Don't know what else you could have done at the time though.

And I'm not proficient enough with PS to know if you can lighten the corner up any.

I like it. The tones of the image and the curve of the stairway are quite beautiful I think. I'll agree the weakest part of the image is the upper half. But the image did capture my attention!

I like it. I like lots of angles and this one sure has 'em. I really like your tonal range and this works for me. I'm not real big on people but I love shapes and geomtric patterns in the everyday.

    Re: Quiet stairway

Put another one down for "I like it". The tonal range is nice. The upper left does not bother me quite as much. Since I believe the original is color, I would try to do a contrast mask on the color version to see if that would help lighten the dark areas some, then do another b/w conversion on that.

Other than that, a very nice, quality image.

Don't know how but I have missed this.

I think you captured a beautiful image and the lighting of the stair well is lovely. The darkness that others have mentioned doesn't bother me too much.
