How can I improve this shot? or is it a nice try better luck next time? lol

She was buzzing around my feet and I pointed down and got her for the half minute that she landed for, so I know its blurred some.

The shot looks a bit grainy, like the ISO was too high.

It's either not focused properly, or you had a slow shutter speed and it smudged the image a bit. In either case, you should be looking for the fuzz & wings to be HARD focused and visible.

I don't think you can post process it enough to get the bee in sharpness. It's just too far out of focus or blurred. Time to try again from a fresh slate

I'd guess you used a small aperture as the edges of leaves closest to lens are pretty sharp but the focus fades quickly in a very short distance.

    Re: Queen Bee

It looks to me, and from what info I get from your file, that the focus was in the right place but you might have had too slow a shutter speed for the focal length you were using. A rule of thumb that I have learned concerning shutter speed and focal length while hand holding a shot is: Use a shutter speed that is equal to or higher than the focal length.
Example; If using a focal length of 150mm, use a shutter speed of 1/150 or faster.
If using a focal length of 60mm, use a shutter speed of 1/60 or faster. etc.

I do like the framing and overall composition with all the leaves framing the bee, but the bee and some of the leaves near it need to be very sharp for the shot to be successful.
Always keep in mind the shutter speed. It is your most important setting when hand holding a shot.
