    pumpkin face

heres a shot of a pumpkin, at first i just meant for it to be a snapshot, but the more i looked at it the more it grew on me, just wanting to see what people on the board think as always feel free to critique.

I like your crop but for whatever reason most of the shots I have looked at today seem to have harsh lighting and I would like a bit less contrast.

    Still, this is good stuff.

That's a nice pumpkin and the colors are superbs but I agree about the harshness of the light. I think that I would have slightly underexposed this to soften the picture and better hide the candle in the "pumpkin mouth".

    I disagree.
The harshess of the light and the contrast makes it for me.
It has an edgy slightly scary feel to it.

thanks guys, some of the lighting was also affected by time of day (it was late in the afternoon with a strong orange cast), and putting the orange cast with an orange pumpkin and well its alot of orange, i might try shooting it more in the moring time.

I also think the high contrast and harsh lighting work well for this, gives it the fitting mood. Well done.

I'm a freak for saturated, contrasty pics. Love' em! I'm with Paul, Lava, and Mr. Yuck on this one. Great shot.
