Neat shots... I love the first one. Having the Nikon symbol in the background also is a great addition. Well done...I wish it was a little more sharp, but you did have it on hand held so that would explain it.

    Good shots,

    Jared

get some glasses as the image is sharp, just like you said my image of the playground did not show the seat when in fact it is there.

    Let me explain myself.

The image is not sharp. The Nikon symbol on the lens cap is soft. For the other image, I meant to include the whole seat (including the bottom of the seat) in the shot The top was included and not the bottom.

And if you don't want me to critique...fair enough. But notice I'm the only one who's taken the time to look at your shots.

I look at your shots, and I said how I felt. I apologize if you're not understanding me or if you don't think I'm looking at your image. But I'm saying what I saw, and if you can't take that; I'm sorry.

It's interesting you say that I do'nt know anything about photography....cause after being here for almost a year and a half, and no body's ever questioned my ability...I guess there's a first for everything.

Enjoy your time on these boards.

That might be why it's not "sharp" too. I didn't notice that in my initial readthrough, but I wouldn't say that the image is sharp.

    Re: product placement

Wow, what a response there Kevin!

The lens cap is definitely soft, looks like motion blur. Being the main element in the Nikon shot, taking up most of the frame, it does detract from an otherwise decent composition as well as hiding the only part that does appear to be reasonably sharp, the edge of the filter thread right to the upper right of the lens cap.

You posted here to get a critique, not to get a pat on the back. Jared brought up valid observations about your images, there is no need to be rude.

I agree with that the image is soft. Looks like a low-light problem. Then again, perhaps I need glasses too.

    Re: product placement

I am going to have to agree, I like the first image better but it is a tad soft....maybe try setting up a tri pod for this shot?
"Critique" is someones opinion, you do not have to agree with it but you shouldn't be rude. There is no reason for it. I have had pictures that I thought were great, posted them on here and let me tell you, these people can find ALL the flaws.......I still think my pictures are good and will use them in the ways I would have but I TAKE what they say and apply it to my next images and usually end up with a better picture in the end.

    Re: product placement

I also agree, the first image is a tad soft. A tripod would probably fix that right up. The lighting and composition are spot-on. I don't particularly care for the second version with the halo effect. It washes out the contrast and detracts from the overall impact of the image, IMO.
