Preservation Shipyard. . .v(iew from within)

Sorry to bombard the forum with this project, but I'm getting the later additions together at last. I'm fond of this one for various reasons. How do you feel about it.
    Thanks

Gary, I guess that I will quit commenting on the execution of your pictures in this series, they are consistently very well crafted. One thing that I notice here is that the view that we get on the outside world seems to be from a rural setup rather than an industrial setup like it was previously the case. It gives this picture a slightly different feel and make it an interesting addition to the series.

    I like the patterns!(surprise, surprise )
I also like the double view of the outside - that's a new twist - and the crooked path of light pulling you into the interior.
A nice addition to the whole series.

    Well executed as usual!
The selling point on this photo for me is the strong light that leads you to the interior. I love the way you were able to get such great contrast on this photo.
    Cheers.

    At the risk of sounding....

We are all starting to sound like the proverbial "broken record"..
    Another great photograph Gary.
No need to apolagize for great photography.
A lot of us are happy to be apart of this series.
I think this one is your best one technically, the outside it printed equallay to the inside.
    Keep It Up!!

As others have already picked up on - the strong light shooting in/strong shadows make this one stand out. Nice work.

Re: Preservation Shipyard. . .v(iew from within)

Thank you for the thoughts on this. I was pleased to see the exposure come out as I had hoped upon seeing the image scanned from my slide. This was Provia 100. I liked the door very much in this scene and the reflections off it's windows ( as Chunk referred to as a double view from within), but what I found that I liked most was the other building directly across from this view. I could imagine that someone could be standing inside that building looking out as I was and we would not know of eachother hidden in the shadows, actually blinded and hidden by the light.
    Thanks again

I am envisioning someone hiding in the shadows behind that door!
Great addition Gary. I think the incredible shadows and light pull you in and direct your attention back outward again, stopping along the way to see the reflections in the windows on the door.
The view outside is also great, and yes a bit of a change up from what has been appearing in your shots.

I feel this is one of your best compositions in this series. The contrast, the shadowed pattern on the floor and the sunlight which is just perfect and not overdone or overly bright.
I love this one Gary. This pic is definitely a choice of top 3 in your series, though you have so many great ones. Great job as usual. Love it!

I like this one better also Gary. This one pulls a lot of feelings but I can’t decide which one is more powerful. Everyone else has hit home on the technicals of the photo but for me it’s more about the left behind, lonely feeling, like it’s late evening and everyone is gone. There wasn't even time enough to shut the door. Oh well, I guess I don’t need to write a book here.

    Great job Gary!

Brian, Rebekah, Nina, Dudley. . . thanks for your views on this. I'm really finding that knowing the different feelings and thoughts that each viewer gets from an image allows me to get more out of it as well. I'm able to see things there that I would not have without the sharing of views.
