    On A Post

    here is a shot from yesterday sun was going down and it was around 8 pm here so getting dusky
    shot this one, of a seagull on a fence post in the park.
    let me know what you think.

    Wow... nice shot! The DOF is just about right, not much you could change there anyways. I would definitely work with the curves and levels a bit (or you can use the shadows/highlights tool in Photoshop if you're feeling lazy) to get it a tiny bit brighter (a tiny bit though). Excellent use of the rule of thirds by the way .

    Thanks alot fx101 ill try this evening to brighten it up a bit, i just left it like that because thats the way it appeared to me and i loved it

    Overall a great job on the image - framing is great. I love that you can just make out the birds in the background; blurred enough to not distract from the main bird, but they give the eye something else interesting to find after the main bird. I like the little bit of chain on the post as well, gives it a real dock/sea feel.

    The only critique I have, I can't quite put my finger on it, but the color doesn't look quite right to me. Seems to be a bit green, or maybe the white balance is a little off; I'm not sure. Other than that, technically it looks great!

    thanks brad, i used the day light WB setting on the canon, and it honestly looked exactly the way i seen it. but what ill do ill play with the wb on my editing software, and see if i can make it any better!

    Great shot. I love the placement of the bird. Only question i have is why do birds always look mean? Birds and Cats just have a way of looking at the camera so they look condesending. ah well I guess im just a Dog person.

    Good one! I think it is exposed fine and colors are correct on my monitor.
    Ah! The golden hour. Problem here is its always gray during that time.

    yeah, i was driving throught the park and saw him i was like that would be a great shot haha
